Club Announcement: Sheldon Bhawanie Appointed Head of Development Programs

Halifax City Soccer Club is proud to announce that Sheldon Bhawanie has been appointed as our new Head of Development Programs, overseeing the Skill Centre and AA Programs.

Sheldon is a CONCACAF C Diploma certified coach with over two decades of experience developing youth athletes across Canada and Trinidad & Tobago. His coaching journey spans grassroots coaching schools, elite school programs, and competitive club environments, including his recent work with our U12 and U13 groups here at Halifax City.

Throughout his career, Sheldon has mentored players who have gone on to represent national teams (TTMNT, USMNT), and he is widely respected for creating inclusive, developmentally sound environments that keep players engaged and thriving. His approach blends data-driven player development with a deep commitment to building character, ensuring that athletes grow both on and off the field.

In his new role, Sheldon will lead the continued growth of our Skill Centre and AA programming—empowering coaches, supporting players, and strengthening our club culture through strategic leadership and high-performance development environments.
